As we tumble into the summer season, I am preparing to deliver my paintings and collages to three wonderful venues on the Maine coast. If you are traveling here in June, you will find my artwork at galleries in Wiscasset, Brunswick, and Portland. And If you miss these exhibits but wish to see my artwork in person, please feel free to contact me about arranging a visit to my Topsham studio. You may contact me through my website, or if you prefer, email me at robinellenb@gmail.com. I hope to see you at an art opening or studio visit this summer.

Maine Art Gallery in Wiscasset: Juried Member’s Exhibit
I am excited to be showing two of my Foremothers collages in the Juried Member’s Exhibit at The Maine Art Gallery https://www.maineartgallerywiscasset.org/ in Wiscasset. Blues for My Grandmother Rebecca and Remembering Our Foremothers are the pieces that were selected for this exhibit by juror Sam Cady.
In the acceptance letter, the Exhibition Committee said that they received 162 entries. The artists who submitted work came from South Portland to Camden. Juror Sam Cady was impressed with the quality and diversity of the work that was submitted. To pull a cohesive exhibit together Sam was looking for work that demonstrated technical excellence, personal meaning, and an investment in exploring an idea.” I give credit to the juror for trying to make a cohesive show from a diverse selection of artworks by over 50 artists, and I look forward to viewing the exhibit myself.
Robin’s Foremothers collages being shown for the first time in person!
Both accepted artworks in the Member’s Juried Show are from my Stories of Our Foremothers Project. and the virtual exhibit from 2021 at Curtis Library. They are now framed and ready to hang at the gallery. I hope you can join me on June 4th from 4-7 pm for the Maine Art Gallery’s Juried Member’s Show opening reception. I believe there will be live music along with the art–very festive!

A Summer Show at The Mix on Maine Street
I’m still waiting to hear from Leslie Beattie as to which of my paintings will be included in her summer show at The Mix. While The Mix is primarily an art supply store–the only one in Brunswick–Leslie has wall space above her product shelves for displaying art. I’ve chosen bold larger abstract artworks from my Abstract Landscape Series to show at The Mix.. You can preview this work here: https://robinbrooksart.com/of-time-and-memory/
Visit The Mix at Brunswick’s Second Friday Artwalk
The Second Friday ArtWalk in Brunswick https://brunswickdowntown.org/events/2nd-friday-brunswick/ is a perfect time to stroll down Maine Street and take in some art and music. Friday June 10th is Brunswick’s first ArtWalk of the summer season.
