Outdoor Tai Chi with Robin at Head of Tide Park continues into September
Vitality! Wellness! Community! Please join us. Tai Chi at Head of Tide Park is a drop-in practice group that meets at 9:30 AM, at the lower picnic area. In our hour we will activate the “Healer Within” through gentle movement, breathing practices, self-massage, and mind focus. I lead a qigong warm-up and then we play with a modified Yang-style form called Tai Chi Easy.™ Attendance by donation, with $10.00 per class suggested. The first class is always free.
Join us on the following dates: August 4, 11, 25, and September 1, 8, and 15th. Head of Tide Park is in Topsham on the Cathance Road.
Update from our Friday Zoom Group–Sharing Some Photos and Kind Words
Lisa Binkley send me some wonderful photos from her recent trip to South Carolina. Lisa joins us from Columbus, Ohio, so seeing the ocean was a treat for her. And I am delighted to share them here, with her permission. Check out the clouds

Here is Lisa’s note that accompanied the photos:
Hi Robin!
Thank you so much for a wonderful, as always, Tai Chi session yesterday! It is always nice starting my Fridays off with such a nice group of people.
I wanted to share a couple pictures from Hunting Beach in SC with you. They reminded me of Salvador Dali paintings.

Summer Zoom schedule–Please note one change!
I will be on vacation the week of August 16th, so there will be no Zoom tai chi class on Friday, August 19th. We are a drop-in program, but please attend as often you can! Regular tai chi practice makes a difference, as many of you can attest. Here is the Zoom link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/85871106390?pwd=bE5kUGtnUTdxcVVXbGFQbmZoSk5SQT09 And, as always, please feel free to send some photos from your summer adventures and I am happy to share them in my next newsletter.
A birthday celebration and tai chi on the beach, Monday August 1st!

Jane from our Friday Zoom group is celebrating her birthday at Popham Beach. She asked me to invite folks from our tai chi community to join her on Monday, August 1st at Popham for some tai chi and perhaps a float in the ocean. Weather-permitting, I plan to arrive at around 9 AM and lead some tai chi for everyone who is interested at around 10 AM.
This is what Jane had to say about the event:
If you can, please come and join me as I celebrate…good health, birthday, friendship, etc. by practicing tai chi with Robin, floating the river, singing rounds, building mermaid, etc. Bring only what you need for the beach, a friend if you want, and your lunch. Look for me along the water’s edge, far down on the right towards Morse Mt. and River (turq./green chair).
Please note: The parking lot is usually full from 11-3 on a nice day.
Adult Ed tai chi on Thursdays: Registration is now open for fall
My Thursday afternoon adult ed class will start on September 22nd. The fall session is eight weeks and our class meets from 1:30-2:45 pm. This class is open to continuing and new students, so please spread the word. Here is the link for course information: https://merrymeeting.maineadulted.org/course/?post_type=coursestorm_class&coursestorm_search_term=tai+chi+with+Robin My classes at Merrymeeting are in person at the Topsham Adult Ed building near Mt. Ararat Middle School, And masks are optional. We may start the session outdoors, weather-permitting!
Another group art exhibit–Harlow Gallery Member’s Show
If you missed seeing my painting “Tumble” in Portland, it will be on display through September 3rd at the Harlow in Hallowell as part of a large salon-style open exhibit of artwork by gallery members. I love to channel the energy of nature in my mixed media collage paintings. This one has torn and cut paper, spirals cut from textured wallpaper, real leaves, and even a small shell glued onto the surface. It evokes the way the ocean’s energy moves and tumbles everything in its path. Can you feel the energy of the waves in Tumble, and maybe even imagine the smell of salt air?

Thank you for your ongoing support!
I love hearing your responses to my art and tai chi offerings. You can always leave a comment or email me at robinellenb@gmail.com My Zoom and “in person” tai chi class at Head of Tide are community tai chi practice groups. The model for these groups comes from the Healer Within Foundation: https://www.healerwithinfoundation.org/ Interestingly, we are just one of many such groups across the country! How cool is that? And please know that your donations are helping to sustain our group and support our efforts to disseminate these healing practices. I suggest a $10.00 donation per class, but please pay what you can. I accept checks and Venmo and my mailing address is 47 Ivanhoe Drive, Topsham, Maine 04086. As always, I appreciate your ongoing support and participation. ~Robin
