This month is chock full of art events. I am excited to announce that three of my pieces were selected for Whiteout at L/A Arts Gallery 5, an exhibition celebrating the winter season in Maine. This show runs from November 12 through December 18 2010. The opening is Friday, November 12, from 5-8 pm. Gallery hours are T, W, Th, F., S: 5-8 pm and by appointment with L/A Arts. (207) 782-7228
The Area Gallery at University of Southern Maine (USM) in Portland is hosting an opening reception for the “Art of Teaching,” an exhibition of work by MAEA members on Saturday, November 13th, from 2 to 4 pm. I am showing Woods #7, a monoprint from my Woods series. The Area Gallery is located in the Woodbury Campus Center at 35 Bedford Street in Portland off Forest Avenue across from the USM library. This show runs through Friday December 10th.
Seven of my works in landscape collage are currently on display at Brunswick Eyecare in the Parkview Professional Building off Maine Street in Brunswick (next to Parkview Hospital.) These pieces will be on display in the waiting area through January 31, 2011. Even if you don’t need an eye exam or new glasses, please feel free to stop in and see the show.
Creative Maine: The Works of Local Artists will open at Monkitree in Gardiner on Friday November 19 from 5:30 to 9 pm. Monkitree will feature the work of thirty Maine artists. I will be showing “Winter Light,” a 2010 landscape collage.
All of this is very exciting, and I hope you’ll be able to join me at a reception or simply take in some local art this season.
