About the Daily Collage series
I began this daily collage series in September of 2023 after returning from an inspiring week at Haystack Mountain School of Crafts on Deer Isle, Maine. Interestingly, I usually arrange and glue the collages in one day. Although I have been known to rework a piece some days or even months later. In keeping with a recycling aesthetic, I’ve been trying to use up materials I have on hand. When I am not quite awake I have access to the preconscious and a dreamlike state of mind. My collage process in this daily collage series is akin to journaling. I never know what papers will motivate me and how they will speak to one another, so the results are often surprising. This is a very different process than my Landscape Collage work where I have a particular image in mind before I begin.
