As I think about the meaning of Independence Day in my own life, I want to be free from the constraints that prevent me from being my best self. For this Independence Day update, I want to talk about the concept of regret. Many people find it challenging to let go of regrets–for opportunities not taken, time poorly spent, and bad choices of all sorts. However, we can learn to break free of our “allegiance to regret” and choose to live with courage and purpose in the present moment. This is the opportunity that avails us every time we practice tai chi and qigong. As we learn to move with present moment awareness, we discover ourselves anew. Practicing Tai Chi and Qigong can nurture our connection to our authentic selves. And the practice can help us shed the feelings of “If only I had…or I wish I hadn’t” and learn to live in the here and now.

Oh my Robin
This truly is how regret has affected this life I choose. Very grateful that you gave the words to help understand regret. Will keep this close in my soul as each day unfolds. In connection Terri
