Vase Series

In this series of monoprints and embellished monoprints, I played with the basic form of this small brown vase with flowers. An earthy ceramic piece, it was given to me by my father who often came across unusual objects that he passed along.

Each image started by painting with watercolors on a plate and transferring the image to paper. Once it is dry, I can embellish the printed image using collage elements, "Kitchen Vase" received a "Best in Show" award this spring in Art2008, a juried show at the Harlow Gallery, www.harlowgallery.org.
