When I was in New York studying art, I copied Cezanne's bathers at the Met, www.metmuseum.org. Ever since, I have been fascinated with placing people in the landscape. These "figure in the landscape" compositions have allowed me a chance to explore the multitude of sensory experiences we have when immersed in nature. Most of these pieces are done from memory. Occasionally, I use figure drawings from the model as a point of departure.
